EMWD is constructing new groundwater banking facilities in the San Jacinto Groundwater Basin. These facilities will include percolation basins, pipelines, and three production wells which will be jointly used for Water Banking to be used during the year as well as to store for future use during an emergency or drought.
Purified Water Replenishment
The Newest Technology
Advanced technology allows aquafers to recharge groundwater basins with high-quality recycled water.
Recycled water that has gone through reverse osmosis can be blended with tertiary-treated or “purple pipe” water that is currently used for agriculture and landscape irrigation. This technology provides a safe, environmentally-responsible, and cost-effective drinking water source, provides a reliable drinking water supply, even during extended periods of drought.
